Home Foreclosure & Auctions
Summary:
First things first, what made me decide to start helping homeowners who are in default? Glad you asked, here's my back story. In 2008 when the housing market crashed, so did a lot of jobs. My job being one of them. I was working construction, and when it rains, most of the time construction work comes to a standstill because it's either too muddy to move dirt around or too muddy and risk getting expensive equipment stuck. Not being able to work in these conditions caused me to lose hours and not be paid. I fell behind on my mortgage payments because of this. I was four months in default when I received the foreclosure letter in mail. I had 30 days to pay the full amount owed or the mortgage company was going to sell my home at auction. Well, I had no choice at the time and let my home go into foreclosure and moved back in with my parents. Three months past and read in the local paper that my home sold for $65k on the local courthouse steps. That's $20k less than what I originally bought it for.
Fast forward to 2014, by this time I've been married for four years, and we were able to purchase our first home together. Did you notice that six years had passed? It took me that long to build my credit back up enough to be able to get approved for another home. It normally takes eight to ten years for most people. From the time we moved in, I've been trying to find a way to help other people who are or were in the same situation. I finally found a way to do just that. Partner with real estate investors who pay cash for homes, rehab them, and then resell them on the market.
You're probably wondering how this helps a homeowner facing foreclosure. I can locate these homeowners and present to them an opportunity to sell their home, avoid foreclosure, and maybe put money back in their pockets, then it's a win win. If nothing else, I can help them avoid foreclosure and having that bad mark on their credit for up to 8 years.
In the next blog, we will talk about what to expect when selling your home before the auction happens. Consider subscribing so you don't miss out on important information or details. It only gets better from here.
